The James K. Polk Home and the Tennessee Sampler Survey will host a sampler symposium in conjunction with the exhibit Middle Tennessee Samplers: 'This My Name Shall Ever Have'.

(10/26/10) Upcoming Exhibit: Polk Presidential Hall, Columbia, TN
The James K. Polk Home in Columbia, Tennessee, will host an exhibit of area samplers from December 17, 2010 to April 10, 2011. Middle Tennessee Samplers: "This My Name Shall Ever Have," co-curated by Jennifer Core and Janet Hasson of the Tennessee Sampler Survey, will bring together previously unseen examples of Middle Tennessee needlework. The exhibit will also feature artifacts from 19th century female academies.

The Polk Home is open Monday through Saturday, 9am to 4pm and Sunday, 1pm to 5pm. Admission to the Polk Presidential Hall exhibit is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Information on special events and programming associated with the sampler exhibit can be found at the Polk Home and the Tennessee Sampler Survey websites.

Welcome to our new web site! We are pleased to present the results of our research in an online gallery. Check out the new sections devoted to products and education.
