Biography:
Nancy Warren (1816-1898) was one of ten children born to Nathaniel Warren and Nancy Newman. The family lived in Franklin, Williamson County. In 1834, Nancy married a wagon maker, James T. Pate. They settled in Bethesda, Williamson Co. and had six children.
Description:
Nancy made her sampler at the Williamson Female Academy under the tutelage of Mrs. B, who may be Mrs. Mary B. Hine. Mrs. Hine later taught at the Columbia Female Institute. The Williamson Female Academy is known only through this sampler.
